The Instructional Technology and Teacher Advisors (ITTAs) as well as several Central Office Curriculum and Instruction Advisors attended a two day Google Certified Educator Level 1 training that prepares them for the Level 1 exam. DACE is the recipient of a $42,000 grant from Google which pays for a 3rd party company specializing in educational technology training to provide several professional developments.
The Google Certified Educator Level 1 exam is mostly a performance based exam that tests one’s ability to use Google for Education tools in a classroom setting. The Level 1 status indicates that an educator is able to successfully implement G Suite for Education into their teaching practice in order to enhance teaching and learning.
Individuals who achieve the certification may publicize their status with their personalized certificate and badge. The certification is valid for 36 months and the exam certifies or recertifies educators who have the fundamental skills for implementing Google for Education tools in the classroom.
