On Wednesday, December 5, 2018 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM Maxine Waters Employment Prep Center (MWEPC) will be hosting a blood drive. The American Red Cross is facing a severe blood shortage and urgently needs blood donors to give blood to avoid delays in lifesaving medical care for patients.
Volunteer blood drive hosts are also critically needed to prevent the shortage from worsening this winter. Every day, blood donors help patients of all ages: accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those battling cancer. In fact, every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood.
